Ways to get sucker punched:

1. When my child is crying, and I pick him up, do not offer to take him. You arms are no better than mine. Your mere insistence that he go with you, is an insult to my parenting skills. Maybe I want him to cry. Ever thought about that? Maybe I don't want him coddled every time he falls. And when he falls and really hurts himself, I suggest you step away. My momma bear instincts will kick in, and I will sucker punch anyone who comes between me and my cubby. When I'm ready, I'll let you hold him.

2. Don't ever reach for my child and pull his arm while I'm holding him. He isn't a tug-a-war toy. I will sucker punch you!

Let's just start with these two (for now)

Alastair cookie!

Dear Alastair,
Baby, how you've grown! It amazes me at how fast the time flies. You are 3months old now, and you have developed an awesome personality already! You love music, you like the melodies of Fun. And Mumford and sons. You love sitting, you try to sit up on your own all the time. It's so funny! (Little baby crunches). You smile you laugh you speak, in fact you try to say mama and dada all the time! Please say dada first!!! :)
You are outgrowing all of your clothes! We are going to have to go shopping soon enough for some six month clothes!!! Geesh!!!! Lol. Well baby, I have to get back to work. :( can't wait to come home to you and mama! Love you tons!!!

Dear Alastair, you're 9 weeks!

Ooo baby! You are growing like a weed! We took you to the doctor last week for your 2 month checkup and vaccinations. Every month, your Wela, Welo, Tio Marcos, Mami and Papi place bets on how much you weigh. Your Wela has won two times in a row so far!

When you were born, you weighed 7 lbs, 2 oz. at one month you weighed 10 lbs, and at two months, you weighed in at 12 lbs, 9 oz.

That was just a week ago. Tonight we took you in because we thought you had an ear infection. They weighed you and you now weigh 13 lbs, 2 oz!!!!
You've even grown longer! (23.5 inches!)

Cool milestones:
You're starting to coo, giggle, and mimic sounds.
Your neck is super strong.
You like to stay awake longer.

Dear Alastair, you are quite the character!

Baby, you are such a sight to behold! You're 8 weeks today and I'm still amazed that we made you. Everyone who has seen your pictures say you're a mixture of your dad and I. A perfect mixture if I do say so :)

You're at a point in your learning where you like to mimic our facial expressions. Your dad wants you to say "dada" first, so he repeatedly says dada to you for as long as he can, before I tell him to stop being annoying. Secretly, I do the same thing to you when he's not home because I want you to say mama first!

Other than that, you and I spend time staring into each other's eyes a lot. I like to sing to you, and you like to try and mouth what I'm saying back. You love to coo when you're happy, and grunt a growl when you're angry.

Without any words, I know exactly what you're saying. I probably always will...

Here's some pictures of you this week:
One is of you sleeping with your arms in the air. Two pictures are of you enjoying your dancing bears (mobiles). You always crack up when I put them on. It's really cute! The other one is with you all bundled up because your Welo decided to clean the house with harsh smelly chemicals and I told him to air out the house. The last one is if you smiling with your eyes. You're so good at that! You totally get that from your Papi.

Dear Alastair, you're turning into a happy baby!

We've had to change what you eat three times already! Nothing we've given you until now has made you feel well... until now!
When I was a baby, my mom had to give me soy milk... and I guess you're just like me. I went out and bought Prosobee, and you are finally sleeping better, not crying from pain, and are actually smiling.

Finally! I hate seeing you with a creased brow all the time. It seems like you've been that way since you were born...

Dear Alastair, here's your genealogy!

Ever wonder where you came from, or why you have certain features? I always thought about that when I was younger.

I was lucky enough to travel to Puerto Rico pretty often with your Welo and meet his side if the family. I got to know my great-grandmother, and your Welo's mom and dad. I remember very little about my mom's daddy, and nothing at all about her mom.

I'm sorry you won't be able to meet or know your great-grandparents. But I will try to include as many pictures as I find them, for you to know your background.

We will start with what I do have:
My parents got married at a very young age in Puerto Rico.
Your other Wela is feeding you dinner here.
Your Papi's father is someone we've never met before... But maybe in the future.
